Ryan's Birthday

Ryan turned 27 this Monday. We didn't have a big celebration or anything, but he did get a lot of nice cards from family and a hugely helpful present from his Mom.

It came in a Christmas box. So festive!

Yeah! A newspaper!

Just kidding. A concordance! This will be such a useful book for studies. I can't believe we've been married 6 1/2 years and we haven't gone out and bought one of these things yet. Well, we've got one now. I feel a little smarter already. :)

I'm finally making his birthday cake today. We had friends over on the weekend and they left us with a huge slice of very yummy cheesecake, and I couldn't justify making another cake when we had that fantastic thing in the fridge. So, today, Ryan gets his once-a-year carrot cake.

There's a reason I only make it once a year. That thing is sooooo rich. Wow. You can just feel the love handles growing with every bite.

In other news, I am working hard at making Christmas presents. I love making things (you know: painting, sewing, baking, etc.) but unfortunately, I can't really upload any pictures of what I'm currently working on now can I? Even though some family members (Mom and Erin) already know what they're getting because I let them pick out the fabric doesn't necessarily mean they know what the finished product will look like. And Dad, you're really out of luck because you have no idea what you're getting for Christmas. Mwa ha ha!

Oh well. I'll post a bunch of pictures after Christmas is done and the suspense is over for family. I'm very proud of what I'm working on. I hope you'll like the pics.
